Christ is Everything!

I don't know any one particular reason why I wanted to make this post except to publicly express how wonderful it is to have the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior & my very Life! When I look at myself I become very discouraged because I see a sinner who is not really getting much better, but when I look away from myself & see my magnificent Savior, I get joyful again! Some would say that we shouldn't cling to experiences, but though I do not cling to experiences themselves, I get a sense of deep joy when I think on just how my gracious Lord Jesus has blessed my life so many times, & still does.
I may not be blogging as much in the near future, I am just "blogged out" for the time being. I need to spend more time with my wonderful Savior anyway, so I just want to close out this post with a quote from one of my favorite writers, Horatius Bonar. He said, "I am not satisfied with my faith," says one. No, of course you aren't; nor will you ever be; at least I hope not! The Bible does not say, "Therefore being satisfied with our faith we have peace with God;" it says, "being justified by faith, we have peace with God."...Now then, there is but one thing with which Almighty God is satisfied –entirely satisfied –and that is the Person and work of His Son. It is with Christ that we must be satisfied, not with ourselves, nor anything about us! When we cease from ALL our labors, and ALL our righteousness, and ENTER INTO HIS REST, pardon and peace will come without delay." Pardon my grammar, but ain't that great!! It makes me think of our theme song for this blog, "Hallelujah, ’tis done! I believe on the Son; I am saved by the blood of the crucified One." May the Lord bless you all!

Great thoughts Bro. David!

I wanted to stop by and thank you for the patience and love you have expressed toward the brethren here on-line. You have shown a wonderful example of God's love to us all.

Bro. Kc,

You are very kind & I appreciate your thoughtfulness. I am still very far from what I should or even would like to be! God is certainly patient & kind with us isn't He?! God Bless you!

Bro. David,

Great thoughts apparently from the depths of your soul.

My ultimate Joy comes, as my friend Dr. Tom Cucuzza says, "I keep looking up for the Lord and out for the lost."

That will make your day.

In Jesus Christ eternally,

ExP(Jack)

Amen...and who cares about grammar. I once heard Dr EV Hill talk about a member in his congregation shouting out, "Preacher, the Lord am good!"

Dr Hill said he didn't go far in english but knew enough to know that that wasn't right so trying to correct him he said, "The Lord 'IS' good."

and to which he replied, "He sure Am!"

Grace upon grace,

Brian

Hey Dave. I'm happy to be back posting here. I'm staying away from the TFG vs. RFG debate. The "Refined" Folks are wasting their time, as they never interact with 1 Corinthians 1:17-23. They love citing John 3:16, but they ignore verses 14 and 15. They love citing John 20:31, conveniently ignoring the fact that occurs in the chapter of Resurrection! They'll cite John 6:47, and conveniently ignore verses 48-54. It doesn't matter if we try to bring it up. I'm done with them. I sympathized with them at first, held their doctrine for a short while, and thankfully started thinking again!

Back to a positive note, I appreciate your honesty, your contending for the Finished Work as absolutely necessary to grasping God's Free Grace, and your humility. I'm going to enjoy being in the Kingdom with you Dave!

Wow, bro. Danny, you are very kind, but I am just thankful that you don't kn ow me as I know myself! If it weren't for the Lord's grace in my life, I'd have no hope!
I appreciate my brothers & sisters in Christ on both "sides" & wish we could work together, but as Amos said, how can 2 walk together unless they be agreed? I'd still like for us to major on our agrements & then dialog on the disagrements agreeably. But far more capable people than I will have to be the leaders!
Thanks again for the far too kind remarks, & I agree with you that I will enjoy being in the Kingdom with you as well! In fact, I'm kinda enjoying serving alongside you right now! God Bless.

Dave, I'm aware of my own sin as well, so I would never think less of you. Your honesty is a shining example to me. Dave, I'm fat!
