Psalm 116:15

Precious in the sight of the LORD
Is the death of His saints. (NKJV)

I have wondered just what this means that the death of His saints is precious to the Lord? I know the Lord cares about everything in our lives, but a thought recently came to me about this that I would like some feedback on from the fine folks that drop in to this blog from time to time. Do you think it is possible that this may mean, at least in part, that it is especially precious to Him when each of His sons & daughters comes Home to Heaven with Him? Certainly there is far more than this, but do you think this could at least be a part of what this precious promise means?
AND, on top of that, if this is true, then for us to persevere in faithfulness to the end of our lives & to have an abundant entrance into His Kingdom & presence (2 Pe.1:10-11) brings even more joy to HIS holy heart?? So, our faithfulness being rewarded at the Bema seat of Christ not only brings joy to US, but also to HIM?? Just a thought, & I am looking forward to your thoughts as well!! May the Lord bless you all!

David,

All of the above.

At my age (79) I have seen many family (my wife and others) and friends and family go home to Heaven.

That verse is reassuring -- knowing that the Lord welcomes every believer the same regardless. Yet you are right, the Bema Seat is where we place any rewards we have (the least to the best) at the feet of our Savior.

We are loved regardless.

What love and Grace!!

In Christ eternally,

ExP(Jack)

Thank you bro. Jack for your gerat comment! That thought is beautiful to me, & I see no Biblical reason to doubt it! You said, "That verse is reassuring -- knowing that the Lord welcomes every believer the same regardless." I know that there will be variations of rewards, & yes even loss at the Bema Seat due to unfaithfulness, but the initial meeting with our wonderful Savior will be the same just becuase we're His! Thank you bro. jack for your precious comment! I look forward to sitting at our Savior's feet & communing with you as well after the 1st couple million years of unutterable joy communing with Him in His presence!! God Bless.

David,
I don't really have a sure answer for you, but this verse comes to mind:

6Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-8

Good thoughts David. I guess I have always looked at this as a type of re-union verse in the sense that it will be a day where we behold Him and we see Him face to face. Sort of a time of relief and joy maybe much like the women beholding Jesus after He rose again and then with both fear and joy running to tell others. It will be a blessed day and of course the day we get to lay our crowns at His feet and become a jewel in His crown will be a most blessed day.

Hallelujah brother.

Grace upon grace,

Brian

The other day a loved one sent me a DVD about Calvary Chapel's beginnings called Firstlove. I know that there are areas of disagreement we have with charismatic believers, but I watched this disc and when my wife and I got to Annie Herrings testimony of how she was led to the Lord by her now husband and out of the hippie movement and hollywood back in the 60's, well my wife and I just went up to heaven with her.

I took the disc into my pastors office and asked Him, "Hey pastor? You wanna go to heaven for a while?"

We both sat and listened to her testimony and the beautiful song she sang about our redeemer and it was priceless. It was truly an incredible encouragement for all of us. I believe our deaths will be a precious moment and indescribable. Truly it will be a precious time when we behold Him face to face and fall at His feet to worship Him forever.

David: Thanks for coming by my blog and leaving your encouraging comment.

I think that when one of us saints dies and immediately show up in front of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, He remembers what He went through to get us there and says, "I love you so much that it was worth it all."

Precious in the sight of the LORD
Is the death of His saints.

Sorry for making this comment here but you have no email address I can send this to. I just wanted to say thank you for your nice comments concerning my blog. I received a few nasty comments from those that oppose so to hear encouraging words does help much!

Thank you!

David, thank you so much for coming by my blog. It's mostly hard hitting politics but I try on Sunday to do a 'day of rest' blog with scripture and an illustration!
Some have told me they find it encouraging and a welcome respite in the week. I hope you do the same, and I look forward to coming here from time to time, too~!

blessings! z

Mr. Wyatt, thank you for your visit to Social Sense. I very much appreciate your comments, and you are welcome at any time.

I do enjoy your blog. I stopped by the other day, read your most recent post, and had to chew on it for a while. After reading the comments, I know that I am out of my depth in participating in a discussion; Mr. Lincoln's advice would seem most appropriate.

Nevertheless, I'll be back.

Hi David...just a grunt from a grunt to another Marine seeing the eagle globe and anchor.

I was going to call him Devil Dog, but I don't know that this is scriptural anymore since getting my heart right with God:-)

I see!

Hey anyway, thanks for stopping in. Whatever the reason, it's good to see you! God Bless.

Good to see you as well. I have not seen a post from you for a while, or a Psalm. Are there any other Psalms that have spoken to you lately? I try to get a Psalm in each day between my Bible reading. Do you do that as well?

Sometimes I pray the Psalms directly to God and find God speaking to my heart as I do.

Grace upon grace,

Brian
